A Window into Modern Quilting - Montreal Modern Quilt Guild Exhibit
Today's the day!! I'm super excited to be heading out to the opening of the Window on the Modern Quilt exhibit being held at the Maison de la culture Marie-Uguay!
I cannot wait to see the modern mini-quilts my fellow Montreal Modern Quilt Guild members have designed. The focus was to honour traditional quilting techniques all while providing a modern take on the final design.
The challenges fell into several categories, including: negative space, minimalist design, grids, alternative improvised piecing and asymmetry.
The exhibit will be running from January 31, 2016 through February 28, 2016. If you are in the Montreal area, I encourage you to stop by, be inspired and support our local artists!!
